It's easy to slip in a cliche now and then. Come rain or shine, we all do it. When I'm writing for the press, I'm a rabid re-editor. However, I still manage to miss my own cliches, especially when I've really got my nose to the grindstone.
When you spot one, a cliche is like an elephant in the living room of your blog. A brutal reminder of how, even if you leave no stone unturned, cliches can easily creep in and destroy your well crafted prose.
